GYROTONIC For Golf
Discover the Difference

GYROTONIC for Golf is shown to significantly improve flexibility, core strength, and freedom of movement - all aspects that are essential to a controlled, more powerful golf swing. The Gyrotonic methodology involves controlled exercises that will also improve hand-eye coordination, balance, concentration and development of muscle tone - all necessary to maximize ones performance on the golf course.

Crane Creek Country Club, in partnership with Power House Pilates & GYROTONIC, LLC is now offering private sessions geared for golfers wanting to enhance performance and reduce injury.

During a round of golf you are repeatedly bending over the ball and twisting your body in one direction. This results in the same muscles being over-used. The shoulder, neck, hips, and feet are all vulnerable, but it is the lumbar spine which takes the greatest toll. Gyrotonic exercises can help restore the balance and realign the body by encouraging natural, normal movement patterns.

Targeting the deep postural muscles, Gyrotonic exercises will literally build up your strength from the inside out. The key is learning to engage your stabilizing muscles which create a strong center from which you move. When these core muscles are engaged they form a corset around your torso to protect and stabilize your spine as you swing. These deep abdominal muscles are used with every movement in the Gyrotonic methodology.

Considerable concentration is required to isolate these muscles. You also need to learn how to align your body correctly, to breath efficiently, and to be aware of unwanted tension in your body. The Gyrotonic methodology aims to make the right muscles do the work. It is the quality of your movements that count not the quantity. This enables you to protect the spine as you exercise and play golf.
